Job Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst’s role is to help develop and establish quality assurance standards and procedures for the IT services within Vertical Screen. This individual is part of a team that will lead the testing effort on client projects, collect and analyze data in support of business alignment, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include creating application documentation, test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in, software development, information systems, and operations systems. The Quality Assurance Analyst will apply problem-solving skills to validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments.  This role will interact with clients regularly and have the authority to make critical Go/No Go decisions for production deployments. 

 

This position is remote but must be local to be able to travel to the office in Mt. Laurel, NJ or Warminster, PA. 

This position pays $90,000-$115,000

Responsibilities

  • Translate Requirements/SOWs into detailed test cases/test plans
  • Create and execute acceptance test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
  • Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  • Help create internal application documentation.
  • Create and train clients on User Acceptance testing plans.
  • Create formal user guides for client testing.
  • Monitor and execute test plans.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers.
  • Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization when applicable.
  • Verify and recommend revised quality assurance standards as needed.
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, and suppliers in assessing applications and/or systems.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.

Required Skills

  • At least two years manual testing, creating UAT or other testing documentation, plus SDLC related experience is required.
  • Direct hands-on experience with creating and running SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server required), XML, json, postman, integration and API testing is required.
  • Direct Hand-on experience translating requirements/SOWs into detailed test cases/test plans is required
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze critical systems and provide action plans for remediation of bugs and issues
  • Direct hands-on experience with automated testing tools and reporting software is a plus.
  • Experience with Test Tracking software, working with Agile process and software, and/or waterfall development teams is a plus
  • Time management.

  • Proficiency in M.S. Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A college diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration or equivalent work experience is preferred.
